Indian basmati rice is the easiest rice to make in my opinion. The rice to water ratio is always 1½ cups of water to 1 cup of rice.
2 cups of basmati rice
3 cups of water
Wash your rice in a bowl.
In your pot melt some butter (a tablespoon or two).
When butter has melted, add your rice and mix so the butter coats the rice.
Once the rice is coated in the butter, add your water.
Stir and reduce heat to low and cover.
Rice should cook within 10 to 15 minutes. Your rice should be loose and soft. If your rice still has a hard bite to it, add some water and let it cook for a few more minutes.
